What an amazing dinner! The service, the drinks, the food...everything was fire!! And Jorge M.!! What a phenomenal server! He was gracious, attentive and very conscientious of our limited spanish and knowledge of Asian food. We had the baked Salmon, Salmon tostadas and ravioli. The only picture we got was of dessert, tempura ice-cream and chocolate cake - both life changing!! Even if you're not staying at The Sheraton, please,.please have dinner here. If you're lucky, Jorge will serve you. This won't be regrettable

Everything about our dinner was INCREDIBLE. First we didn’t have a reservation and weren’t even staying at the resort, they sat us down immediately in a beautifully decorated modern atmosphere. We didn’t realize there was Teppanyaki tables to dine at. So after we sat down and asked to move to one they quickly obliged with no problems at all. They came over and offered two large bottles of water one sparkling and one still. If you have EVER dined fine before you know there is a charge for still or sparkling water. We politely declined and just asked for house water. We were greeted with a Tuna Tartar for free that was such a nice touch. The menu is extensive in both Spanish and English. We ordered the Rib Eye Goyza, the Flamed Roll (which was flambed tableside), a Tempura roll (my husband is allergic to shellfish and they subbed it out for salmon, again with no problems) and we got the Salmon Tenderloin combo. Our wait staff was very attentive but not overly hovering. Our Teppanyaki cook Jonas was AMAZING. He was so friendly, funny, and professional. We had such an amazing time. The head chef came out twice to make sure everything was to our standard and his. Alejandro the head chef you REALLY REALLY know what you’re doing and how to run a kitchen. They even gave us free macaroons for dessert after we said we didn’t have anymore room and the check is presented in this beautiful wooden box. With free digestive shots. Top Tier. THANK YOU UMAI we will be back during our next visit to PV.

Our family loves Umai and we eat here 2-3 times a year, sometimes at the hibachi and sometimes just a table. The food is always consistent with excellent presentation and quality. The service is on point. They always have a complimentary special appetizer. Last night was as enjoyable as ever!

Jorge was a great host at UMAI. He expertly guided us to some great dishes such as the Salmon Sambal dish, Miso Soup, Unagi sushi roll, and the Flaming salmon roll. Sensei drink was tasty. Highly recommended.

Surprisingly great sushi within the Sheraton property. We dined here twice during our trip and loved it. The hibachi experience was also very good and quite comparable to anything you would find in the US. The kids menu has a great breaded cheese appetizer which my son loved and we also really loved the lobster tempura and hamachi sashimi. Its really good and amazing service.

I'm not a big fan of Asian food, but on occasiona I've been known to try new things. It's a lot easier to venture out of my comfort zone with some awesome atmosphere and great service. First of all, the enterance is inside the lobby of the Buganvilias Vacation Club, not on the street. When you arrive, you have the option of a regular table/menu or a hibachi experience called plancha. The venue features sushi, shaming, Raman, and teriyaki. Of note, there is a Flamed Sushi option that features an awesome presentation experience where a liquor is set on fire and then poured across your sushi roll. It was amazing to watch and the taste was awesome. It was a delicious toll with salmon and then made sweet by a pineapple honey and the orange liquor. The miso soup was ultra flavorful. It was maybe the most flavorful miso I've ever had. The teriyaki was made from a delicious steak that was flavorful and tasty. The ramen was delicious and made with amazing ingredients. The soup base wasn't the best, but the meat and noodles make up for it. Overall it's a great place for a taste of asian food.

Amazing food and fun! Definitely try the flamed sushi roll. It’s interesting to see the flame, and the alcohol adds a unique flavor/taste to the sushi . Salad, , dessert are all great. Sitting next to the grill looks like very entertaining but I’m not sure about the food there.
